A parade with fireworks

Fireworks add a delightful sense of jubilation to any occasion. Hell, X-Men Jubilee's power was to shoot fireworks from her fingertips, which of course had an advantage in a fight but also looked fantastic. But sometimes fireworks aren't necessarily for celebrating, as they can also mean lots of action happening. Such is the case with Image's new book Parade (With Fireworks) by Michael Cavallaro, a story based on his family's history. Parade (With Fireworks) opens in 1923, as Italy is pulling itself from the wreckage of the first World War while unknowingly plummeting toward another. The nation seemed to be holding its breath, and the slightest perceived transgression could result in violence. On the evening of the Feast of the Epiphany, it did, causing one man to choose between political standing and his very own family. "Parade (With Fireworks) makes for the perfect Shadowline book in terms of not just its quality, but it's ability to stand out from anything else on the stands," said Shadowline Publisher Jim Valentino. "We couldn't be more proud of Michael and his achievement." The 72-page book hits stores November 26, 2008 for $12.99 if you're so inclined. Full press release below.
