Gotham City Dossiers: Ape Entertainment

Welcome to Gotham City Dossiers where I try and showcase a lesser known comics publisher. This isn't to say that these publishers need my help bringing attention to themselves, but I'd like to think that readers can get stuff here that they may not be able to get elsewhere. So enjoy, and be sure to check in every Thursday for Gotham City Dossiers. Founded in 2003, Ape Entertainment encourages readers to go ape and is the brainchild of comic's devotees David Hedgecock, Brent Erwin and Mike Hall. So what kind of stuff can you read from them that will cause you to go ape? Well I'm glad you asked. Scarlet Veronica is about the death of Veronica Gainsburrow and the subsequent breaking loose of all hell. Literally. Her undead alter ego is all that stands between the forces of evil and the end of the world, so its up to her (and not Bruce Campbell) to stop the oncoming army of darkness. Femme Noir is all about the blonde fighter of justice by the same name in the city of Port Nocturne. Horrorwood is the tale of four individuals tied to fame and glory who become involved in a horror mystery amidst the landscape of a blacklisted city. And Athena Voltaire features an aviatrix (!) fighting Nazi Germany in World War II. There are also some webcomics in How I Met My Wife and Once Upon a Time in Mangaland for you to read for that instant fix. And if you're looking to submit you're in luck if you're an artist, as they accept submissions via email, weblink or mailing address. Unfotunately, writers are going to have to look elsewhere to showcase their talents as Ape Entertainment currently isn't looking for writers (this may have changed because their submission page was last updated August 16, 2007, so things may have changed). So check them out if you need an excuse to go ape and not be responsible for the damage you coud cause. Ape Entertainment
