Gotham City Dossiers: Markosia Enterprises

Welcome to Gotham City Dossiers where I try and showcase a lesser known comics publisher. This isn't to say that these publishers need my help bringing attention to themselves, but I'd like to think that readers can get stuff here that they may not be able to get elsewhere. So enjoy, and be sure to check in every Thursday for Gotham City Dossiers. Markosia Enterprises is publishing company that likes to do sequential story-telling. From adapted properties such as King Kong and Starship Troopers to originals like The Lexian Chronicles and Breathe. So what is the deal with those originals? Well I'm glad you asked. Breathe is set in late 1700s China where a girl returns to her high mountain home to discover that her entire family has been slain as part of a vendetta. It could be the usual suspects in the Bao Gang, or it could be someone else entirely. Regardless, think The Professional in China. Another original due in December is Ritual which is written by Andy Briggs and with art by Shawn McCauley. It focuses on a sleepy town in Pennsylvania called Black Root where ritualistic killings are happening a la the Salem Witch Trials. When the FBI arrive on the scene, they learn that the killer really is a long-dead witch hunter hellbent on revenge. There are also some webcomics available, including Starship Troopers and Baby Boomers. Markosia even provides some useful services to up and comic comic book talents, including proof-reading, cover design, vanity publishing, artwork and photography, web design, paper-based design work and author visits to schools and colleges. So head on over and check them out. There are tons of good books up there for you take a look at, whether it be via web or in print. Markosia Enterprises
