Batman: Arkham Asylum collector's edition extras
Batman: Arkham's Asylum was recently quoted by an Eidos executive as being the nearest to perfect game they've ever made. That's a tall order on its own, but when you factor in that it's a Batman game then you've got an entire other layer of expectations. While we really only have the gameplay to go on right now, one thing's for certain: the collector's edition won't be short on special features (in North America at least).
Now a lot of these match up with what I wrote about being on Gamestop's website before they pulled the page a few weeks ago, but now for confirmation's sake I'd go with the below list.
14" Batarang with stand (Matches the Batarang’s in-game design)
Arkham Doctor’s Journal (48 pages of notes on Arkham’s inmates w/ Embossed leather dust jacket)
2 Sleeve Digi-pack, including:
Game disc
Behind-the-scenes DVD
Code for downloadable Challenge Map
Exclusive “Crime Alley” map, available immediately
Full-color Manual
The batarang alone is worth shelling out the extra loot. The game looks awesome from early impressions, and it's awesome that fans are able to get the super special treatment in the form of the collector's edition. There hasn't been a formal release date announced as of yet, however summer is what's being touted.
