G-Man flies in August

Comic books originally started out for the kids. Part of the entire uproar around the pulps was the notion that the superhero images and violence would warp young boys' minds. That led to some censorship and book burnings which is never fun for anyone. So it's refreshing to see that despite the maturity of comics these days, there are some out there still focused on kids. This August, Image Comics brings another one of those back in the form of G-Man. G-Man: Cape Crisis will pick up with the ending of the upcoming G-Man: Learning to Fly. Pieces of G-Man's cape have fallen into the wrong hands, and that's a problem when the cape is the source of his powers. He must enlist the help of his friends to get his cape back, but it's an uphill battle seeing as how the villains now have the powers. Chris Giarrusso is excited as well. "Getting to work on G-MAN: CAPE CRISIS has been a long time coming," Giarrusso said. "I had a great time working on MINI-MARVELS while it lasted, but I've also had some G-MAN stories I've wanted to tell for a while. Short MINI-MARVELS back-up strips are always fun, but with G-MAN, I finally have the opportunity to tell brand new full-length feature stories in full comics. This is the most ambitious project I've ever worked on. Fans of the kid super hero stuff I did in MINI MARVELS will be sure to enjoy the all-new kid super hero stuff I'm doing in G-MAN. The writing style and art style are identical - it's the same writer and artist, after all! I'm having a blast, and I hope MINI MARVELS fans will take a chance and check it out." G-Man: Cape Crisis #1, the first of the five-issue miniseries, will be available in stores August 12th for $2.99. The G-Man: Learning to Fly digest will be 96 pages of goodness in softcover for $9.99 on May 20th. Full press release below. PRESS RELEASE - CHRIS GIARRUSSO'S G-MAN FLIES AGAIN THIS AUGUST!
