Kirsten Dunst back for Spider-Man 4 getting closer to reality

Spider-Man 4 is well on its way to becoming a reality. Sam Raimi is signed on. Tobey Maguire is signed on. A script is in the works and should be ready by June. And Marvel has a full head of steam as far as movies go. Everything is in place for a great movie right? Well, not quite. See, Kirsten Dunst hasn't committed to the film, but according to Latino Review, Raimi says she's excited for the possibility. “Kirsten? I have talked with her, and she's very excited about the possibility of it,” said Raimi. “I think I'm going to have to read the screenplay and make sure everything we've talked about is working, before I could honestly tell you absolutely how [Dunst's possible return] would go.” Dunst is pretty crucial in my mind in making the fourth film a success. She's become a staple for the series so far, and it'll be a little strange not seeing her in it. The producers blew it by including Gwen Stacy already (and pretty much making her a non-factor in the film), so I don't really know who else they would use to make the female lead. Raimi is also apparently listening to your criticisms about the third film, so it should at least be a little more straightforward this time around. I didn't dislike the third one, but I definitely feel like Venom was tacked on due to studio pressure. No word on the villain in the fourth film, but hopefully it's just one this time.
