Preview: Free Realms #1

Jim Lee working with Sony Online Entertainment was bound to be more fruitful than just DC Universe Online. The man's studio named after crazy weather has teamed up with SOE to bring you a comic book called Free Realms, based on the MMORPG of the same name. WildStorm has tapped J.S. Lewis for the story, with Jon Buran and Allen Martinez on the art. Bill Crabtree has the crayons for coloring, while Johnny Lowe is on the lettering. Throw in some Jon Buran and Allen Martinez again for the cover and you've got a spiffy new book due in stores today for $3.99. The book mirrors the game, so if you've played it then you have an idea of what you're getting yourself into. But if you haven't played it, what you can expect is a world full of vicious monsters and gorgeous fairies. All this is the backdrop for a relic hunter and pixie to unite and find a young boy abducted and dragged into a forest. Things get interesting when the saviors are captured by a horde of trolls.
