50-GIRLS-50 talent search

At the Image United panel at SDCC, Frank Cho was on hand to briefly talk about his new book 50-GIRLS-50. The reason he was talking about was because he and writer Doug Murray made an open invitation to the folks in attendance (and further the world) for their art. As part of the new series. Yeah, they went there. Cho's thinking is that there's so much talent out there why limit it to someone he knows (or himself for that matter)? Why not reach out and find some young gun for their creativity? "When creating 50-GIRLS-50, Doug and I knew we wanted to go with a very different look than we've had on any previous collaboration," Cho said. "Given the immense wealth of talent online, we decided an open call would be the best way to find someone. We're open to seeing all styles for our prospective illustrator and look forward to the results." In order to find said artists, Image Comics has teamed up with Newsarama to find the talent needed for the work. To enter, all you have to do is illustrate six pages of sequentials based off the script by Murray and Cho easily (found on the contest page). Artwork should be pencils and inks on 11x17 paper and posted on the Image Comics messageboard. The deadline for entry is Friday, October 2nd by 12:00 PM EST, with the winner chosen by Murray and Cho at Baltimore Comic Con. The winner will be expected to start work immediately.
