The daredevil treasure hunter type has always been a reliable character persona to go to in books. Whether it be Indiana Jones, Lara Croft or Nathan Drake, there's a certain cool factor to someone that traipses the globe looking for treasure and oozing sex appeal. There's always room for one more on that list though right?
Boom! Studios is set to introduce a new character called Hunter Prescott in a book called
Hunter's Fortune by Andrew Crosby (creator of Eureka TV). And Boom! Marketing Director Chip Mosher seems to think that Hunter is not quite your typical treasure hunter.
"This might get me fired, but if Indiana Jones and Chuck had a love child, it would be HUNTER'S FORTUNE," said Mosher. "This is the kind of high concept comedy-adventure that Cosby did so well in MR. STUFFINS, and that millions enjoy on his show EUREKA."
The story by Caleb Monroe (written by Crosby) follows Hunter as he inherits a vast fortune. The thing that makes this story different then winning the lottery is the catch (and not the large amount of taxes paid on said prize). Nope. Hunter has to pick up where his treasure-hunting benefactor left off and find the one artificat that Uncle Max never could.
Matt Cossin provides the interiors and a cover, while Phil Noto provides another cover. The four issue miniseries should hit stores this October and will set you back $3.99.
