Blackbeard: The Legend of the Pyrate King #1

Dynamite Entertainment does some amazing comics with the characters they have. From Army of Darkness to the Lone Ranger, Green Hornet, Buck Rogers, Zorro and more they create comic series for characters of old and new. Starting in October they are putting out another character from yesteryear in conjunction with the creators of The Blair Witch Project in the form of Blackbeard: The Legend of the Pyrate King. Blackbeard: Legend of the Pyrate King #1 is set at the high point when being a pirate meant you lived the good life of plundering and sailing the vast ocean. For this exciting new comic the cover is being done by John Cassaday, with the story written by Eduardo Sanchez and Gregg Hale in part with writers Robert Place Napton and Jamie Nash. Their goal is to present to you the ultimate adventure tale of a simpler time in history. They decided to start with the beginning of Blackbeard’s life and carry through to his bitter end. Dynamite Entertainment delves into Blackbeard's legacy in a way that has never been fully explored as deeply until now. I don't know much about Blackbeard beyond the little bit of history that everyone knows about him. But it will be interesting to see how they draw this character as there are a number of different images of Blackbeard. It's great what Dynamite Entertainment is doing bringing all these older characters back to life and doing them justice. If you are a pirate fan or just simply want to learn a bit more about one of history's greatest pirates then this comic is the perfect fit. Be on the lookout this October so you can pick this up and have yourself an adventure. Blackbeard: The Legend of the Pyrate King #1
