New map pack for Batman: Arkham Asylum

I finally finished Batman: Arkham Asylum. If you're playing it and haven't finished it yet stop what you're doing right now and get back on it. The final fight is pretty awesome and is a fantastic end to a very worthy story. Having beaten the main game (after which you can still run around and find all the riddles) I moved onto the challenges. Which are challenging. And the list is about to be expanded yet again. Rocksteady Studios has been working on new DLC in the form of a new map pack called "Prey in the Darkness." The map pack will be available on September 24 and feature a Freeflow Combat map and a Predator map. And it's PlayStation 3 exclusive (at least here in the US). Cue the outrage. The "Heart of Darkness" FreeFlow Combat map will let you battle a mob of relentless enemies at the Arkham Pumping Station. The "Hothouse Prey" Predator map requests that the player silently take down enemies at the Abandoned Glasshouse. Both are free. Now onto the outrage part. The DLC is available for both PSN and Xbox Live for those gamers outside of the US. But if you live in the US and happened to get the game for the Xbox 360 instead of the PS3 you're out of luck. This is no doubt tied to some exclusivity agreement that Sony has with Warner Brothers that is the second part of the Joker exclusive. There are plenty of available challenges already available so it's not like these two will make or break the game. Still sucks though for the Microsoft folks out there. Full press release below. 1. Just beat it last night myself. Awesome stuff. I'm slowly working my way towards being an achievement whore now and getting to 100% completion. Fun stuff...

  2. Yeah good luck with that. Some of those challenges are damn near impossible. Although the replay value will definitely be there as I too am going for the 100% mark.
