YALSA a fan of Parade (With Fireworks)

What's a parade without fireworks? A low budget affair no doubt. Or it's a great graphic novel for teens. Parade (With Fireworks) has been nominated for the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) Great Graphic Novels for Teens Booklist. With an accolade that long from an organization with an even longer name that's got to be good right? "PARADE (WITH FIREWORKS) has received an immense amount of acclaim since its release, but the YALSA Great Graphic Novels for Teens nomination is one we're most proud of," Shadowline LLC Publisher Jim Valentino said. "We've long felt Michael's very personal tale is the perfect fit in any library and are honored to even be nominated for the booklist. We certainly look forward to any and all feedback we receive from the valued members of the YALSA committee." The story opens in 1923 as Italy is recovering from the end of World War I. Of course they don't what the next few decades hold on the world war front and nothing will stop them from being super sensitive when it comes to international relations. And on the evening of the Feast of the Epiphany one man has to choose between political standing and his family as Italy is close to breaking out in violence. The 72-page book is currently available in stores for $12.99. Full press release below. PRESS RELEASE - YALSA NOMINATES CAVALLARO'S PARADE (WITH FIREWORKS) AS A GREAT GRAPHIC NOVEL FOR TEENS!
