Jonathan Lethem's Essay in Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep

Everyone who's anyone knows who Philip K. Dick is. He could be considered the forefather of robot intelligence and has a knack for inspiring others to be just as science-fiction oriented as he is. Like Jonathan Lethem. Lethem recently penned an essay called "Crazy Friend," which chronicles his journey as a Philip K. Dick fan. The jouney included stops at discovering Dick's novels and becoming a contributor to the estate run Philip K. Dick newsletter. His novel Motherless Brooklyn has won several awards (including the National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction and was named Book of the Year by Esquire), while his novel Fortress of Solitude was named one of The New York Times "Editor's Choice" Books of the Year. He does bring some comic writing street cred as well, having co-written the Marvel Comics mini Omega The Unknown. “Jonathan Lethem writing on Philip K. Dick . . . wow, just wow,” said DO ANDROIDS DREAM OF ELECTRIC SHEEP? editor Bryce Carlson. “We’ve been so fortunate to have such talented people contribute to this project and now we have one of the most prolific contemporary authors commenting on one of the most masterful science fiction minds of all time—this is what I dream of.” Anytime you have someone of Letham's caliber drawing praise alongside someone like Dick, you've got to be excited.
