Baron Von Shock arriving in comics
You can never have enough zombies I say. Well, I should clarify and say you can never have enough stories about zombies. Real zombies are just trouble that no one wants. When you fashion your namesake after zombies as in Rob Zombie well, you know that something zombie related could be coming. And it is.
Rob Zombie Presents: Whatever Happened to Baron Von Shock is making its way to stores in May and features a tale written by Zombie and illustrated by Donny Hadiwidjaja and Val Staples. It's a dark dramedy that describes the rise and fall of celebrity; in this case, Leon Stokes' (Baron Von Shock) becoming a famous television horror host and learning that sometimes that horror can be a reality.
"This comic venture is very, very different in tone for me. Instead of a crazy over-the-top monster-fest like El Superbeasto, I wanted to create something that works more on a slice of life human level." states Zombie, "After El Superbeasto became a movie, I felt I had taken that style as far as I could. So, I really needed Baron Von Shock to be something fresh in writing and in art."
The first issue will be available May 26 for $3.99. Full press release after the jump.
