Ready for Prep School

Myself? I'm a public school type of guy. All the way through high school I went to public schools...even when to a public university for my undergraduate. So the concept of a prep school is a little foreign to me, but I think I get the jist: Predetermined clothes, personality problems and a lot of drama. Come to think of it, that sounds an awful lot like public schools. Anyways, Image Comics has been teasing a new kind of a prep school the past few weeks and have finally announced that school is in session in Morning Glories.

Written by Nick Spencer and illustrated by Joe Eisma (covers by Rodin Esquejo), Morning Glories is about Morning Glory Academy, one of the most prestigious schools in the country. It's been said that if you can't get into that school in upstate New York then this is a great second choice (please note that hasn't really been said by anyone but me). Behind the doors of the academy something sinister and deadly lurks, trapping six brilliant but troubled new students.

"MORNING GLORIES is RUNAWAYS meets LOST," exclaims Spencer. "I'm excited to offer readers a book that combines a challenging sci-fi mystery with the humor and charm of a teen adventure. This is a book that will keep the audience on the edge of its seat and coming back for more month after month, trying to put the pieces together -- and with Joe Eisma on art and Rodin Esquejo on covers, it's presented in an all-star package that will really make the book shine."

The special, double-sized 44-page first issue will launch on August 11 for $3.99. Full press release after the jump.
