As comics have gained relevance and respect as, you know, actual media that can be serious, their topics have sometimes taken a turn for the serious. Feeding Ground #1 from Archaia is one such comic, and it tackles the hot issue that is immigration in Arizona.

A famine caused by Blackwell Industries has driven Diego Busqueda to lead a band of Mexican border crossers across the Devil's Highway. Meanwhile, his daughter back home, Flaca, discovers that there is a bigger issue in the factory fields, stalking the people there for who knows what nefarious dining purposes. Written by Swifty Lang and illustrated by Michael Lapinski, Feeding Ground #1 is due in stores in September for $3.95 and 48 pages. There's even 24 pages of bonus content in Spanish.
