Defense With the BoomStick

(Disclaimer: This post is set in a world where zombies have taken over and people live in small spots all over the world. It’s a weekly broadcast of news from around the globe and a tip to help survival.)

You ever get that feeling of perpetual tiredness that no matter how much sleep you attempt to get it never goes away? With zombies around you never truly can sleep for long as that’s how you end up dead by letting your guard down for a second. I only bring this up as it goes along with my tip for this week, but we'll get into that in a minute. For now let’s have the news and see if any good has happened in the past week.

There has been some headway in securing more of the safe zone in South Carolina with an increased government presence as well. They have cordoned off more land for farms and housing for survivors that are trickling in. Although life has still become more difficult because of increased zombie activity that is attacking their walls and making certain land routes quite dangerous. Routes leading from the northwest seem to be the best way to get to the safe zone and the forces in the area are broadcasting out locations for aerial pickups.

Also, reports coming out of there during reconnaissance missions have spotted a large herd of zombies heading out west from Tennessee and towards Missouri. Not sure what has them headed this way, but if you are located in that path take precautions. Keep all signs of you hidden and have lookouts on watches so when the herd is spotted you can hide. Really with this size zombie group coming only two options exist: making a run for it or hunkering down in your place. If deciding to stay and hide you have to take the upmost care as to not give any zombie a clue you are hiding there or else they will never leave until something else attracts them.

That’s the news for today now let’s have the tip. Now the tip today doesn’t go over a weapon or fighting strategy. No, I want to talk about the mental state necessary when out in the zombie world.

Everyone has in them that survivor mode that allows them to focus on the task at hand and do what it takes to make it. Being in this constant state is what can drain you the worse, making sleep so needed even the littlest bit can help you to keep your edge. In addition to the fatigue emotions can cloud your judgment and that is something you can’t let happen.

When emotions control you, irrational behavior is usually the result and these sorts of actions can get you and perhaps others killed. You have to let emotions be put aside when tough choices need to be made, as in this zombie world sometimes the right choice doesn’t sit well. Still, when you are out among zombies on a scavenger mission or travelling to a more secure location you have to be prepared to accept that losses might occur. Just can’t let emotion affect doing what needs to be done or else you won’t survive to the day when all zombies are stopped.

There you have the tip and news for this week. As always plenty of work to get done. Remember to keep fighting and keep surviving until next week.
