Rumble in the Cretaceous

Jurassic Park is one of the most famous books and movies of all time. Part of its success was predicated on breathing life into dinosaurs and characterizing them while another part of its success was one of the dinosaurs in particular: the tyrannosaurus rex. The T-Rex was my favorite dinosaur growing up and must know some powerful people, as Image Comics is releasing a one-shot focusing on the King of the Lizards.

Tyrannosaurus Rex is a one-shot from Mark Kidwell and Jay Fotos with art by Jeff Zornow and Fotos. In it, the delicate balance between man and beast is destroyed, leaving it to one man to face T-Rex in defense of his village and love.

"This project hit home on satisfying any giddy child-like fantasies," says Fotos. "I told myself that if I could make a dinosaur comic, the main influences would be a lifetime of Ray Harryhausen flicks, the image of Raquel Welch in a fur bikini, and a heaping helping of Warner Brothers Looney Tunes. It's all non-stop dino-carnage in TYRANNOSAURUS REX!"
