Red 5 Introduces Bonnie Lass

Red 5 is keen on this digital comics thing and even has a new comic to launch their foray into the world of digital first comics. Bonnie Lass is comes from Michael Mayne and Tyler Fluharty and features a brash and daring heroine and her two muscle-headed sidekicks. Their quest (and the plot of the story) is to build a reputation as pirates and to leave the shadow of her father, Cutlass, who found everything in the world except for one: the Eye of the Leviathan.

The world created by Mayne and Fluharty blends the pirate feel of the 1700s and 1800s along with the American western. There's also a sprinkling of modern day technology in there as well, which could make for a fascinating work actually. The book is debuting online only but will eventually make its way to print for the old-fashioned comic book readers out there. It will debut on comixology and iVerse today for a scant $1.99.

Full press release after the jump.
