New Arrivals: March 9, 2011

The other day here in Boston it was 54 degrees around 6:30 AM and raining. By 4 PM it was 20 degrees and sunny. You would think spring had sprung, but alas not quite. It's the second new release date for comics in March and it's a great week to recommend you pick up Ghostbusters #1: Infestation.

IDW is looking to jump on this universe crossover events thing that many other studios have done or are in the process of doing. Their big thing is a zombie infestation throughout their universe and Ghostbusters: Infestation #1 is as good a book as any to start. Written by Erik Burnham and illustrated by Kyle Hotz (covers by Hotz and John K. Snyder III) the book features a plague of poltergeists that aren't fond of agreeing with the "light is green" mantra. Check out the cover and interiors below.

Defense With the BoomPick
Looking at comics coming out these days I'm amazed at how far they have come. From the humble beginnings of Detective and Action Comics to comics that cover wide range of topics it’s simply mindboggling how many different comics there are nowadays. In that vein of comics that go towards another trend I'm picking Sarah Palin vs. the World as anytime politics are thrown into comics the outcome is always a hilarious one. This one-shot showcases the maverick herself as she heads toward her dream job, but with all manners of obstacle in her way can she succeed and beat the world?

Enjoy!
