Comikaze Expo Launches November 5-6

For all its trappings as a happening media city, Los Angeles is a little lacking on the comic convention front. Sure there are conventions there. And sure Comic-Con International will forever be rumored to be moving there (since Hollywood moves to San Diego every July anyway). From what I know though there's not a major convention there for the comic lovers. Wait...there's Comikaze Expo!

Launching November 5-6, the Comikaze Expo will be at the Los Angeles Convention Center and boasts headliners Stan Lee and Elvira as in attendance. The show's creators expect 60,000 attendees and more than 300 vendors with the aforementioned icons at the event's ribbon-cutting. And, randomly, there will also be a cast reunion of The Police Academy franchise.

“I’m thrilled to play a role in kicking off this much-needed, one-of-a-kind event,” says Stan Lee. “It’s important for Los Angeles, the city of dreams, to have its own show of this type, where fans and creators alike can mingle and expand the industry while embracing this city’s vivid and diverse culture.”

The talent associated with Comikaze will please fans of every genre. “I’m so excited to be a part of Comikaze Expo,” says Elvira. “Where else would little old me get to stuff myself into my favorite dress and schmooze and mingle with so many fans? Plus, I can finally speak my mind to all the other artists there, especially all those cheesy, sleazy she-demon actresses who got the parts I was meant for—and the directors who cast them!”

Tickets are currently available through pre-sale at $12 each. Each ticket holder will receive their choice of a celebrity lithograph photo valued at $79-$189. For more information about Comikaze, including sponsorship information, vendor applications and ticket sales, visit ComikazeExpo.com.
