Paul Pope and Matt Wagner Join Legendary Comics
Beyond being awesome, both Paul Pope and Matt Wagner share something else in common: they've both worked on Batman. Those two things are enough to say they've got common bonds, but thanks to Legendary Publishing there's about to be another link in working with Legendary Comics.
Paul Pope’s art book Pulphope will feature more than 200 pages of Pope’s career retrospective and includes many never before seen pieces. The book is scheduled for release this holiday season. The Tower Chronicles is a new series by Matt Wagner that's a supernatural action/adventure that tells the story of a bounty hunter with a hidden past. John Tower and his team of high-tech mercenaries are all that stand between civilians and things that go "bump" in the night.
Legendary Comics Editor-in-Chief, Bob Schreck stated: “We are thrilled to be working with Pope and Wagner on these upcoming projects for Legendary Comics. Just as our film division works with the best-in-class talent and filmmakers to produce content for the fandom demographic, so too will Legendary Comics move forward on our mandate to publish works from the best in the industry.”
Pope and Wagner were surprise guests at the Legendary Comics inaugural panel and were on-site to speak to fans directly about their upcoming projects. Honestly, anything that collects Pope's work (especially on Batman) has the potential to be special. Wagner on a new book about a bounty hunter will also be pretty good, if Grendel is any indication.
Full press release after the jump.
