AMC Releases Four 11 Second Clips of The Walking Dead
AMC hasn't been doing much right as of late. Breaking Bad is essentially being canceled while Frank Darabont was suddenly (and somewhat inexplicably) fired from The Walking Dead. But hey, as long as Mad Men is getting all of the channel's money and they're going off the air soon everything's good right?
AMC has done something correctly with the second season of The Walking Dead with some great promos. Now there's four eleven second clips available that can get your suspense level ratcheted up just a scoche more.
Season 2 of The Walking Dead debuts Oct. 16 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC. Clips after the jump.
Breaking Bad isn't being cancelled--Gilligan has been saying for awhile that it would likely end after season five. Not only that, but the show was given four extra episodes for next season--16 rather than 12. AMC isn't he issue--Weiner screwed that network by demanding more money. What could they do, let their prize pony (Man Med) walk? They had to up the production for that entire show, and thus cut costs on others. It sucks, but AMC isn't the only culprit at play with their current problems.
ReplyDeleteFair point on Breaking Bad. It's not being canceled, but the fact that it was being shopped to other networks (FX) indicates to me that it's essentially being canceled.
ReplyDeleteThe funny thing is that Mad Men will be done after next season too anyway.
You're right though that it's not all AMC's fault. I think they didn't expect to get so big so fast and are trying to figure out what to do next.
I think that is the heart of all this--they've grown so fast, it's hard for them to stay afloat and deal with everything that's coming their way. I hope they do, though. They've been the best network in recent years (hats off to FX as well) and I'd hate to see petty strife kill what they can achieve.
