Defense with the BoomStick
(Disclaimer: This post is an ongoing story set in a world where zombies have taken over and people are fighting to survive anyway they can. Originally it was a post of news and tips to help survivors make it one more day alive, but now it has became a story of my fight after being bitten and partially cured to walk as a half-zombie among them.)
Victory is so short lived for some--me included. After the crushing defeat I gave the bandits at their outpost I was only able to savor it for a couple of days.
A few days later explosions were ripping through the area heading towards my location. I figured they were accompanying reinforcements of the guys I killed, heading my way to get their own brand of revenge back on me. Seeing all those explosions lead me to know it was time to go when the going was good and I made off into the woods heading towards the high ground. After staking out my spot what I saw blew my mind: the amount of men they brought to come after me.
There was just one huge column of cars headed towards what remained of the outpost and they look to know how to take care of a zombie horde. These guys just mowed all the zombies milling about down, failing to leave not a single one standing. Even the radioactive ones got taken out by their sustained fire as they had multiple lines of guys firing in rotation when they were reloading. Despite how much I hate the bastards they do have a level of efficiency to how they operate. I'll give them that.
From this point on I'll try to make my way away from them with the hope they don't follow me. On the other hand if they don’t follow me that could come back and bite me in the ass since they could surprise me down the road. Either way I need to get moving as all the noise and explosions are sure to bring down a motherlode of zombies to this area. One positive note I do have out of this was all the wounds I sustained from the last battle have finally healed up for the most part and I've gained better mobility in my injured leg.
Even though I'm half zombie I still have been feeling the need to sleep from time to time, but I'm still not sure what purpose it serves. Could it help in the way it does for humans to regenerate cells and repair the body? Couldn’t say right now. Hopefully as I make my escape and head towards the next outpost to attack I'll learn more on this and get down to some more destruction.
Until next week keep fighting and surviving.
