Defense with the BoomStick

(Disclaimer: This post is an ongoing story set in a world where zombies have taken over and people are fighting to survive anyway they can. Originally it was a post of news and tips to help survivors make it one more day alive, but now it has became a story of my fight after being bitten and partially cured to walk as a half-zombie among them.)

I am currently pinned down and taking fire from people sniping at me.

I'm not sure if I happened upon a survivor outpost that doesn’t take too kindly to strangers or if it's those bandits again. For once some zombies being around would be a welcome distraction so I can get my ass out of this mess.

Taking a quick look around I don’t see a bunch of people so it isn’t those bandits, but must be a survivor outpost lookout team.

I'm currently in upstate Pennsylvania maybe 20 miles out from the border of New York. At least that's what the signs say. I haven’t seen any settlements nearby on the road I am on, which makes me think this is a scout team.

That and the fact there aren’t any bodies of any sort lying about means I need to get my ass moving fast.

There has to be a ground team they can call in quickly to clear up the place when they snipe down zombies or any other survivors who might pass through. Keeping it clear hides the fact that it's a trap and others will fall into it much like I did.

I figure if they can’t get a shot at me their ground crew is going to move in soon to flank me or flush me out for the snipers. Whatever happened to the days of people killing zombies, not each other?

With the limited options I feel it’s time to make an escape. I still have some of that dynamite I liberated from that store last week should do the job nicely of getting me an exit and causing a diversion. Let me strap some of this to the wall over here.

I see a few guys moving in across the way heading in my direction. Well they're going to have a shock with these sticks I am tossing out the windows at them.

Here goes nothing.

BOOM.
