Defense With the BoomStick

(Disclaimer: This post is an ongoing story set in a world where zombies have taken over and people are fighting to survive anyway they can. Originally it was a post of news and tips to help survivors make it one more day alive, but now it has became a story of my fight after being bitten and partially cured to walk as a half-zombie among them.)

It’s only been a week and I already can’t stand the ocean. Granted it's been a quiet week too with no incidents, accidents or anything else to put us in certain doom. We've made good headway up the coast and are currently parked offshore near the outlying branch of Long Island, on Fire Island.

We've been sitting here with our anchor down since late afternoon yesterday just watching the shoreline and looking for any sort of movement, living or dead. We're planning on going ashore in the morning to find supplies and more fuel if there is any. Fuel right now isn’t too dire of a situation, but depending how far up we have to go along the coast to make it into the government blocked zone will tell the difference.

Not much else to report on at this time and so far we haven’t seen an iota of movement among the buildings or the shore. We are going to keep watch on it the rest of the day until tomorrow and make our move then. Just because we haven’t seen anything yet doesn’t mean no danger is there. I'm not trying to tie up at a dock and get jumped by would-be survivors looking for their own way out with our boat.

Gonna get some sleep, I have night watch…
