Collector's Paradise Announces May 9 as Sam Humphries Day

Sam Humphries is what some would call an up and comer in the comic book world. His one-shot Our Love is Real sold through several printings while stirring up a tad bit of controversy. The work was successful on its own, but Image did it a solid by picking it up and distributing it as well. That was enough to get the attention of Collector's Paradise, who's honoring him and his work with a whole day on May 9.

"Sam has been a great friend of the store. We launched his first major comic, Sacrifice, with an exclusive cover and 2 release signings." said owner Edward Greenberg, adding: "It is fitting that we continue the tradition and help him launch the next step of his career in comics, his first publisher-produced creator-owned work, and his first major Marvel Comics work."

His second book was Sacrifice, a currently published mini-series about a modern age man stuck in time at the end of the Aztec Empire's heyday. Humphries has moved onto publishing Higher Earth, John Carter: Gods of Mars, Fanboys vs. Zombies and Ultimate Comics Ultimates as well, building up that always nice repertoire.

Collector's Paradise will have copies of first issues of all four series and Humphries will be on hand at the following times:

May 9th 12pm-3pm at the Pasadena store
May 9th 5pm-8pm at the Canoga Park store
