Defense With The BoomStick

(Disclaimer: This post is an ongoing story set in a world where zombies have taken over and people are fighting to survive anyway they can. Originally it was a post of news and tips to help survivors make it one more day alive, but now it has became a story of my fight after being bitten and partially cured to walk as a half-zombie among them.)

Sometimes you ask yourself can it get any worse? What sort of bad luck or crappy day is going to come my way now. Then again a lucky break has to happen eventually and damn did I catch one.

In making my escape from the double nuclear bomb droppings last Friday, I managed to get to the wall around Wednesday. By lucky break I speak of the amount of gear and weapons I scrounged up from the outposts they had along the wall. With the lack of bodies I figured they must have bitten and went off looking for more, but left plenty of weapons and ammo. I managed to just about fully restock my pistol and rifle ammo and even found a few goodies to boot in the form of grenades, C4 and some timer charges too.

Guess with all the hell breaking loose there wasn’t time to grab all this loot. Anybody hearing this broadcast that can make it to middle of New York state, there is an entrance there and plenty of gear to be grabbed. I can’t say when zombies are going to be back through this area, so move fast and get what you can. There's even some medical supplies for basic fixes. Put as much as I could indoors before I left to try and keep it in somewhat good condition too.

For me, I'm heading west again. Not entirely sure where I'm aiming to go or what my goal is, but there has to be something out there. Just can’t see it being all zombies and no survivors left. it has been almost four years now since this zombie outbreak hit and wiped out just about all of humanity.

Can I even call it humanity anymore? The lengths people have gone to just to survive it kinda makes you give up your humanity to do it or die trying to hang on to the world that was. I'm not even sure I can cling to humanity with my affliction of being a partial zombie anyway.

Maybe I can manage to do some good with the time I have left. I only say that as I've had to up the amount of medicine I take to keep the zombie urges at bay and those are going to run out sometime soon. Might have to find a map of pharmaceutical company factories to see if there are supplies or things I can use to keep it at bay. Has to be a hospital that could have that information. I need to head for a small city.
