Rob Salkowitz Has a Conversation

Rob Salkowitz is a clever guy. Not only is a huge comic book fan, but he's also got quite the business savvy that makes him a dual-threat as a nerd. He manages to marry both skillsets in his new book Comic-Con and the Business of Pop Culture and interested parties get to hear him talk about the book Thursday, June 21, at MoCCA.

From 7-9 PM, Salkowitz will be on hand for a conversation with Calvin Reid of Publisher's Weekly. The book looks at comics at a crossroads of art and commerce, struggling to find their way as a relevant medium in the present and future.

Salkowitz will also do a short presentation based on his recent TED Talk “Transmedia in the Hour of the Nerd,” followed by Q&A moderated by Reid, Senior News Editor of Publishers Weekly and Co-Editor of PW Comics World.

How did the humble medium find itself at the center of the pop culture universe, and where are things going from here?
