Defense With The BoomStick
(Disclaimer: This post is an ongoing story set in a world where zombies have taken over and people are fighting to survive anyway they can. Originally it was a post of news and tips to help survivors make it one more day alive, but now it has became a story of my fight after being bitten and partially cured to walk as a half-zombie among them.)
Ok. Just a few more feet. Gotta get to the boat.
Huff..huff.
I'm gonna be feeling like crap for a while after this one. A bunch of them are right on me and looking to take a bite in the process. Gunning the engine and getting the hell out of dodge.
Hahaha! Look at them stuck on the dock. Not this time you ain't getting me.
Managed to keep all the gear I left that firehouse with intact on the boat; it’s nice for once to not lose any gear in one of those mad dashes from zombies that seem to be happening a lot more often. Now I find myself out here on Lake Superior heading for what I hope will be a better salvation then the last few spots.
I still haven’t figured out what I did to piss off so many zombies; especially the radioactive ones that are really after me. For now though I get a chance to relax some as I've lost sight of the shore and am on the open water in this vast lake. Going off of paper maps and the compass I look to be heading in the right direction for the island. Should be hitting it in the next twenty minutes or so.
It was a somewhat hard-fought fight just to make it this far after leaving that survivor camp at the storage facility. I still don’t know the fate of any of those folks who made it out of there. Hopefully most of the zombies that didn’t burn were chasing me instead of them. Sure right now they're figuring out how they can catch wind of me again and keep chasing me down.
Gonna have to kill those smart radioactive bastards.
Alright need to hop off this radio and focus on driving this boat. The water is feeling a little choppy and I don’t want to wreck it now when I'm so close. Here’s to having better news next week and maybe a safe haven for more folks out there.
