Defense With The BoomStick

(Disclaimer: This post is an ongoing story set in a world where zombies have taken over and people are fighting to survive anyway they can. Originally it was a post of news and tips to help survivors make it one more day alive, but now it has became a story of my fight after being bitten and partially cured to walk as a half-zombie among them.)

That’s the last of ‘em.

Good thing too as I've just about run out of the ammo that I brought with me on this run. Time to loot what I can off of them and get back before more show up to find the source of the shots.

Hello out there. Been a busy week? For me it's been one hell of a week.

After leaving that burnt out wreck of an island behind I made it back to the mainland in a part of northern Minnesota. Decided that running and hiding just wasn’t going to cut it anymore as a viable plan, the revised plan has me taking the fight to the zombies. It's really the only course of action I have left.

I just cannot take those radioactive zombies and smarter shamblers on my tail at every turn, continuing to destroy any survivor outpost I find. I feel the time for hiding has to come to an end. Eking out an existence is one way to live, but is it really living?

The downside to this plan is that I've reduced the amount of medicines and mixtures that help keep the zombie side in check. Allowing the zombie part to take over more let's me move easier out in the world. Most zombies don't give me a second glance that let's me get closer to kill them without wasting ammo. It’s just the radioactive ones and the shamblers that they bit to make smarter are the ones that can sniff me out.

Now my goal is to kill every zombie I see, one way or another, and keep doing this until I go down fighting. Take them all out or just can’t fight anymore. I'm going to make my way southwest, heading for the land of enchantment, otherwise known as New Mexico. Figure the heat has to do some damage to them the same way that extreme cold affects their motor skills.

Plus, I've always wanted to see the American southwest with zombies having taken over the world now seems as good a time as any. To the fight.
