Defense With The BoomStick

(Disclaimer: This post is an ongoing story set in a world where zombies have taken over and people are fighting to survive anyway they can. Originally it was a post of news and tips to help survivors make it one more day alive, but now it has became a story of my fight after being bitten and partially cured to walk as a half-zombie among them.)

Well this past week didn’t go like I hoped it would.

While keeping watch over those bandits I saw something that led me to take action against them. They managed to grab one of the guys who was going back to our camp and were holding him prisoner. I couldn’t let him divulge where we were at and one of the captured guy's buddies know what needed to be done.

I didn’t take the shot, but he did. That drew the bandits into a mad frenzy, sending them all out to find where we were hiding at. We hauled ass as soon as the guy hit the ground, but not back to our camp though as that would defeat the purpose of killing our fellow survivor. Nope we started heading for the region where we laid out traps and blockades for zombies that will slow them down and keep them from finding us.

We’ve been on the move for the past few days, staying one step ahead and letting them see us here and there to keep them interested. So far it's worked, they kept on blundering into our traps, pitfalls hitting our blockades; that's killed at least seven of them in total. Only problem is there are still I think twelve to fourteen right on our heels. We're starting to run out of traps and ideas on how we can keep killing these bastards.

This entire time maybe one or two zombies have hit them with all the noise they're making. I figured at least some pack of zombies would catch up eventually or a pack ahead would run into them. One last trick is to find a pack of zombies and get them riled up to follow us and lead them right to this bandit pack. I just don’t know what else we can do since in a straight up fight we would get it handed to us with the amount of firepower they can bring to the table compared to us.

Gotta move. We can hear their engines and sounds like they're about ten minutes from getting to this position…
