Jinn have a tendency to be extremely powerful. Whether or not they use that power for good or evil is entirely up to the jinn in question, but that power still can't be questioned. What's also entirely up to the jinn is whether or not they use their powers to save the Earth when the time comes, as in Jinnrise #1 from IDW.

Written by Sohaib Awan and illustrated by Tony Vassallo, Jinnrise #1 is about Andrew Marcus learning about what happens when a force known as the Kibrani invade Earth. He quickly realizes it's the Jinns who will be called upon to save the world...that is, if they're feeling like it.
