Archaia Sends Three Titles to YALSA'S Great List

Archaia does all-ages right. If it's not the crazy, imaginative stories, it's the beautiful presentation that makes their books worthy additions to your library. It's just that the publisher knows what they're doing, so much so that three of their titles have recently been added to the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) 2013 Great Graphic Novels for Teens List: Cow Boy Vol. 1: A Boy and His Horse (by Nate Cosby and Chris Eliopoulos, Hopeless, Maine Vol. 1: Personal Demons (by Tom Brown and Nimue Brown and Rust Vol. 1: Visitor in the Field (by Royden Lepp).

“Well, tarnation! What an honor to be included on a list of such great books!” exclaimed Cosby and Eliopoulos. “Thanks mega-heaps and tons to the Young Adult Library Services Association for selecting Cow Boy, and for being so proactive with getting these kinds of books into young hands. The medium will continue to thrive only by showing kids that comics and graphic novels are so dadgum cool, and the YALSA is a huge part of that!”

YALSA is a national association of over 5,200 librarians, library workers and advocates whose mission is to expand and strengthen library services for teens, aged 12-18. The Great Graphic Novels for Teens List contains recommended graphic novels and illustrated nonfiction works and is prepared every year.

Cow Boy Vol. 1: A Boy and His Horse is the story of a young bounty hunter determined to send his entire outlaw family to jail. THANK YOU!” said Tom and Nimue Brown from their home in the UK. Rust Vol. 1: Visitor in the Field follows Jet Jones, a mysterious boy with a jet pack. “There is no greater affirmation than having your book accepted by both kids, AND librarians,” remarked Royden Lepp. “This is awesome!”
