Grave Soldiers Seeks Kickstarter Funding

Soldiers have a desire to be the best there is. It's seared into their core during basic training and--if they're not--it could expose them to dangers down the road in combat. What happens when soldiers are pushed too far in training though? Jeff Marvin and Jeffery Zacholl aim to find out in Grave Soldiers, but they need some help from interested readers via Kickstarter.

“Grave Soldiers was originally a screenplay, but we felt that we would have more control of the project as a comic book mini-series. That and Brad Pitt stopped returning our phone calls.”

In the not-too-distant future, paranoia and fear force those who walk the halls of power to turn the American military machine loose around the globe. There are those who yell fascism and others who cry justice. But a few in uniform see an army stretched thin and young soldiers lost too soon. When a secret plan is hatched to train raw recruits to deal with the savagery of war, a new kind of horror is unleashed. On the other side of the country, another battle is beginning on the campus of a small Liberal Arts college. A protest of legendary proportions will be waged—one that would shake the very foundations of society itself—and it begins with an epic road trip. These two forces clash on an isolated island and when they do, the unthinkable happens. You get un-dead warriors. You get a bloody mess. You get…Grave Soldiers.

The duo have turned to Kickstarter to make the 40-page full color first volume of a four-part series. When the project is successfully funded, they hope to have the comic book completed by January 2014. The Kickstarter offers a wide variety of incentives. Don't get your hopes up though as Brad Pitt's phone number (which they seem to have) isn't one of them.
