ComixTribe Offers an Epic Scam
Free Comic Book Day 2014 has announced the Silver Sponsors for the event. Fans of ComixTribe will be happy to know that on May 3, 2014, readers of the publisher's works will be able to snag two free titles. Those two titles are Scam #0: Crosswords and a pilot issue of Epic. The former comes from the creative duo of Jason Ciaramella and Joe Mulvey (with a backup story by John Lees and Alex Cormack), while the latter pairs Tyler James with Matt Zolman and Fico Ossio.
"We are thrilled to once again be participating in the Free Comic Book Day program," said ComixTribe publisher Tyler James. "The only thing better than a free comic...is two free comics, and that's what we're delivering this year, with the help of thousands of retailers."
The Scam one-shot featuring Scam’s ultimate villain: Crosswords. After being exiled from “Sin City," Crosswords makes a power grab in Europe, using extreme means to take what he wants. In Epic, after a freak experiment gives teenager Eric Ardor incredible powers, he does what anyone would do… he puts on a costume and becomes Epic. Super strength, speed, flight, optic blasts… it’s a fanboy’s dream come true. Unfortunately, he’s just discovered he has one weakness… pretty girls! And while most boys his age lose their cool around the hotties, Epic loses his powers.
"Releasing a new property from a small publisher into the uber-competitive comic book market is HARD," said James. "Free Comic Book Day is going to give EPIC an unparalleled opportunity to find a BIG audience. And unlike most FREE COMIC BOOK DAY books, which usually contain shorts or previews that only give a taste of what the "real" comic is like, with EPIC, readers are getting a whole meal...an extra-sized story that will hopefully bring thousands of readers back the following Wednesday, when the first issue of the EPIC ongoing series hits the shelves."
