Defense With The BoomStick

(Disclaimer: This post is an ongoing story set in a world where zombies have taken over and people are fighting to survive anyway they can. Originally it was a post of news and tips to help survivors make it one more day alive, but now it has became a story of my fight to survive and to keep on living.)

Year 5. Week 34.

Not much to report this week. After the battle in Carson City we got everyone loaded up and moved out, leaving the city to crumble and burn. With the amount of damage we caused and the explosives we left behind nothing is going to be inhabiting Carson City for a long time--if ever. There's a good feeling amongst the folks that we did some good here; a feeling none of us have had for a long time.

Currently we're on a long march, heading northeast towards the upper part of California, linking up with the survivor outpost there as we gather the forces we have in the area as well as getting more assistance from the government forces in Washington state together. Our goal is to figure out a plan of attack. As stupid as this sounds, we're really still just living off the high of what we just accomplished. That's why we're gathering so many folks together, so an idea can be formed as to where to next.

I feel our utmost next move should be to continue carving out more safe zones for survivors to find and inhabit. The more we can get a safer spot of land for survivors to build up, farm and grow strong, the more we'll all be stronger. That's what these zombies are preying on, making us vulnerable for them to cull, capture for eventually eat. The one thing we don't want to happen and they would love you happen.

Once we reach the other survivors base in northern Cali, it'll immediately be upgraded and reinforced. With so many new people coming to the space there's no way their current spot will hold us all. Normally they would not have taken in so many bodies, but if there are any of those radioactive zombies left from Carson City they might take it upon themselves for some revenge. That revenge may be in the form of trying to gather up as many zombies as they can to throw at us, making the extra people around to fight a necessity.

That fear is one that should/will be down the road as on our march back northwest we've encountered minimal zombie attacks. It's been an occasional zombie here or there with the largest group being five to seven. All have been dispatched quickly and easily, making the move pretty easy. We should reach our destination by the middle of the week and get set up and started quickly. Things are gonna have to move fast.
