Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is seeing its release date move closer and closer. To get you prepped for the film and help you identify which characters are in the movie not named Optimus Prime, Brandon and Tedd will be bringing you Autobot and Decepticon profiles each week up to the film's release. Expect one Autobot and one Decepticon each week. And the good thing about these profiles is that they will be Baysplosion free.
Name: Jetfire (AKA Skyfire and Fireball)
Original Debut: In the original cartoon series in 1984.
Transformed Vehicle: Jetfire has transformed into many different forms, but is usually some sort of plane. In the TV show Jetfire was a VF-1S Super Valkyrie, later on he became a F-22 Raptor and for the new movie coming out in two weeks Jetfire has been updated to a SR-71 Blackbird. Also, as a plus he can combine with Optimus Prime so be ready for the possibility of some awesome combination action in this movie.
General Description: Jetfire was a scientist through and through on Cybertron and was at one point in time good friends with Starscream, which lead to him being a Decepticon for a short period of time until his compassion for humans lead him to defect to the Autobots. His roots in science ensures that even his body is the epitome of Autobot technology, in that his weapons and chassis are state of the art and always kept updated.
Since becoming an Autobot he still doesn't have all of his newfound comrades' trust as he was a Decepticon, but he has quickly become one of their most compassionate Transformers. Because of his overriding convictions to science and the advancement of technologies this fuels him on the battlefield. Usually he is one of the first ones ready to jump into the battle and as the fastest Autobot he really can be the first one in battle.
Jetfire is one Autobot who has appeared in almost every media outlet that deals with Transformers and he is one of the oldest as well. He was always willing to sacrifice himself to help the humans and his fellow Autobots at any chance possible.
